in the middle of nowhere netherlands, there was field of yellow flowers. i got really excited and told the husband to take the lil’ one into it so i could take pictures. the friends that we were with asked me why, they are just weeds, we never notice them. i said weeds to you but they are really gorgeous to me.

while i was shooting these, i became aware of a small audience behind me waiting. as soon as i was done, about three different dutch families jumped into the field so they could take pictures. our friend translated to me that when they walked by and saw me taking pictures, the kids got really excited and wanted to take pictures in the weeds too.

i’m happy that i could remind the kids that sometimes weeds can be just as beautiful as a field full of tulips.

blue sky, green field, bright yellow flowers and a bicyclist. almost as dutch as it can get (missing the windmill and probably a tulip field but still…)

three siblings and their three kids and this was by far the hardest shoot since the adults were so uncooperative    :-)

but at least we were able to get two photos suitable to print for the grandparents (sssh, don’t tell anyone that they are composites).

there are some things that just stick in my memory like remembering seeing this photo when it was first printed over ten years ago and loving it.

so when the opportunity arrived for me to photograph this family, i thought that i had to bribe or coerce the siblings to allow me to recreate it. apparently there was no need since the teenagers were totally game!

it’s not the most perfect recreation and the processing is a bit off but i still love the new version.

in between sunday’s two family sessions, i thought that it would be great to get some cousin shots in. even though i had about five minutes to shoot them, i love these fun shots that came out of it.

another sneak peek and i should step away from the computer but how could i not share this gorgeous family?! i have known the parents my whole life and have known the kids since they were babies and this was the first time that i had the honor to photograph them. aren’t they an overwhelmingly beautiful family?!

and this photo? this is my absolute personal favorite:

while i should be unpacking from our trip to los angeles and packing for our trip to the netherlands, but i can’t wait to share a few photos from this weekend’s incredible photo shoot. this was the first time that i photographed at the san fernando mission park and i can’t wait to go down to los angeles and photograph there again. the highlight from this photo shoot would have to be the two boys. they were so full of energy, excitement and all around awesomeness. you think that they had some fun too?

sunnyvale’s mommy and me photo session sneak peek:

this little beauty just turned one and she was absolutely amazing. full of energy and loving parents, they were too wonderful to photograph! plus they came with a really cute rocking horse that was perfect for the photos.

and this last photo? i love her expression towards the horse.

sunnyvale’s mommy and me photo session sneak peek:

i loved photographing this family! not only was the little girl so much fun to photograph but i loved listening to them sing her one of my favorite vietnamese nursery rhymes.

and this might be a personal favorite of mine, her papa told me that she had just started making this face. so how could i not capture it for the brief few seconds that she actually did it?! :)
